xQc beats Forsen with a spectacular Minecraft speedrun

After a long few weeks of training, research, and practice, xQc once again takes the throne as the fastest Minecraft 1.6 speedrunner in the internet, beating Forsen’s 18-minute run with a new and fantastic path. You can watch the entire run in the video below.

Felix “xQc” Lengyel and Sebastian “Forsen” Fors have been fighting each other in the speedrunning scene to try and maintain the top position in Minecraft speedruns for years. As such, both are extremely creative and talented players so it’s been a constant back and forth with each of them finding new routes, new tricks, and perfecting their timings. From over 30 minutes, to 27 minutes, down to xQc’s 25:37 run. Ever since then, they’ve been able to shave down seconds at a time, until in April 2021 Forsen managed to defeat the Ender Dragon in just over 18 minutes.

This has been the record for over 4 weeks, until now.

xQc sets a new record

This past week, during an 8-hour stream of nonstop attempts, xQc managed something incredible: he got to The End and defeated the Ender Dragon in just 16 minutes and 38 seconds, beating his rival’s best time by over 2 minutes, and his previous personal by over 4 minutes. The streamer exploded in excitement at the moment when he delivered the final blow to the dragon.

The entire time, ever since he last lost to Forsen, Lengyel had been trying to shave down his time by any means necessary. He even streamed alongside known Minecraft speedrunner k4, which prompted some viewers to claim he was cheating by having a coach. However, this didn’t amount to many problems, as xQc wasn’t planning on being guided during his actual attempts. And just as he said, his marathonic stream he kept trying over and over again, all by himself, while utilizing everything he managed to learn during the weeks before. There even was a moment in which he misclicked and filled his inventory with Gold Helmets, costing him the run and almost ending his stream.

The rivalry between both streamers is not likely to be done just because of this surprise, however, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens now.
