YouTube is down: what to do, solutions, and how to check the status
The quintessential video platform is down.

Server down. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when we can’t access a platform. YouTube has been chosen by chance to be down this Tuesday, February 17. As of 7:51 p.m. ET, no user can upload videos or enjoy the content of others. Sometimes it’s X; other times, like this one, it’s someone else’s turn to suffer.
Solutions and how to check YouTube outages
There is little that can be done at this time. The easiest thing to do is to check websites such as DownDetector, which provide up-to-the-minute information on when each website will be back online (or not). You should also check the service’s official social media accounts. Their accounts on X (formerly Twitter) are the quickest to access.

When you access YouTube, two things happen. The first is that the home page does not load any videos. The second, however, allows you to access other options such as your history or watch later, allowing you to access some videos.

There is nothing you can do to fix it. It is a global outage, meaning that no one can access the platform. You will have to wait until it comes back online like everyone else. We emphasize the importance of pages that monitor website performance: they are key to knowing their status. At this time, the impact on recently uploaded videos is unknown. The algorithm may take some time to get back up to speed once stability is restored.
