Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ties with Elden Ring in 100 scores on Metacritic
They did not surpass Red Dead Redemption 2, one of Rockstar Games’ masterpieces, but they are among the highest rated.
Nintendo Switch has received one of the most awarded games in history. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a clear contender for GOTY from the start, a candidacy that has only strengthened since its release. The game has been crowned with the laurels of triumph by both the gaming community and the press, benefiting from the creativity that players have shown with its build system. According to Metacritic reviews, it is one of the titles that has received the most 100/100, just like Elden Ring.
A total of 77 reviews received this score, not counting those that are not part of the popular aggregator. If you add up all the versions on the multiple platforms it was released, Elden Ring reaches the same number, so the two are face to face.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the game with the most 100′s on Metacritic
Other titles such as Grand Theft Auto V are more difficult to measure in this way, as Rockstar’s popular video game has been released on multiple consoles across three generations of machines. What is clear is that neither Elden Ring nor The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom managed to surpass another of Rockstar’s great games. Red Dead Redemption 2 totals about 79 (not counting the Stadia and PC versions that came out later).
Other top games include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (71), The Last of Us Part 2 (54), and Super Mario Odyssey (54).
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch and MeriStation is one of the media that qualified it as a masterpiece. Elden Ring also received the highest score, unlike The Last of Us Part 2, which received a very good score but without reaching the highest (9.3).
