Zendaya reveals her family’s reaction to her sex scenes in ‘Euphoria’ and her ‘threesome’ in ‘Challengers’: “It was hilarious”

Zendaya, the famous actress from series such as 'K.C. Undercover' and ‘Euphoria’ and films such as 'The Greatest Showman,' 'Dune,' ‘Challengers,’ and the Spider-Man saga Man saga as MJ, explained her family’s reaction to her most intimate scenes in the famous series Euphoria—in which she stars alongside Sydney Sweeney—and the famous “threesome” scene in ‘Challengers’: “It was hilarious,” the actress said in an interview. Zendaya has become one of the most sought-after young performers in both film and television, landing increasingly prominent roles in both media and winning major awards such as Emmys and Golden Globes for the famous but controversial HBO Max series.

Zendaya’s parents and their reaction to Euphoria

In recent times, Zendaya seems to have abandoned her more traditional roles in favor of more adult ones, with all that this entails in terms of intimate relationships in fiction. A good example of this is ‘Euphoria,’ which portrays relationships between young people through highly explicit scenes, and Zendaya, like the rest of her castmates, is no exception. This was her family’s reaction to her more risqué scenes in Euphoria:

“It was hilarious‚” said Zendaya. “They’ve all seen Euphoria, you know, so it’s not like our first rodeo or anything,” she added. Delving deeper into her parents’ reactions, Zendaya said of her much-discussed “threesome” scene in ‘Challengers’: “It was funny ‘cause, you know, obviously I’ve seen the movie many times so I know what’s coming, and they were all sitting behind me, and I got to, like, watch them watch and slowly just be like, ‘Oh god.’”

‘Challengers’ is rated R, so it doesn’t shy away from any topic, not even sex. Zendaya admitted that she loved filming the famous scene with her two co-stars: “Well, they know it’s an R-rated movie, so I was like, you know, walking into this, ‘if you can’t handle the heat, get out the kitchen. [...] But I warned them. It was honestly my favorite part of the night. It was hilarious,” added the famous actress.

However, Zendaya was more interested in Venus Williams, the famous tennis player, who also attended the premiere of Challengers, as the film is about tennis. And, unsurprisingly, the tennis champion saw through the trick used in the film. Zendaya herself explained this after meeting the professional tennis player: “She was like, ‘I know there definitely weren’t real [tennis] balls.’ She knows. She’s the best of the best.” Even so, Zendaya had Venus Williams’ approval. “She did say that it was great considering that I had never, ever touched a tennis ball before,” the actress concluded.
