Update:
Star Wars and EA team up with three new games from Respawn Entertainment

Electronic Arts and Lucasfilm Games announced that Respawn Entertainment is working on three new Star Wars games, according to a new blog post.

The first game will be a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This title will once again be directed by Stig Asmussen. For now, there are no details on the sequel to the 2019 title, beyond the fact that it will remain an "action-adventure game." We can only wait to find out if the game will be another adventure starring Cal Kestis, or if it will instead delve into other storylines.

Brand new games on the horizon

An all-new Star Wars first-person shooter will be developed by another team at Respawn. This title will feature the expertise of Peter Hirschmann, former VP of development at LucasArts and executive producer of the original Star Wars Battlefront saga. “Working with Lucasfilm Games on a new FPS in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true for me, as this is a story I have always wanted to tell,” said Peter Hirschmann.

Finally, the third title is a brand new Star Wars strategy game developed by the newly formed studio Bit Reactor. The team is made up of veterans of Firaxis Games, known by XCOM and Civilization, led by industry veteran Greg Foerstch. With this title, Respawn will produce, while Bit Reactor will “lead on the development of the title.”

Vince Zampella, Group GM and Founder of Respawn, “will oversee this new phase of EA’s relationship with Lucasfilm”.

For now, there was no mention of platforms or release windows for any of the games, indicating that they are still in the early stages of development. Likewise, in its post, Electronic Arts studios related to past Star Wars projects, such as DICE or EA Motive, were not mentioned.

As more Star Wars arrives in the form of video games, don't miss out on all the series from a Galaxy far, far away coming this 2022.
