Pokémon Legends Arceus: How to get Merit Points

The lost objects found in Hisui allow us to get Merit Points. We explain what they are, what they are for and why they are so useful in the game.

Update:
Pokémon Legends Arceus: How to get Merit Points

You may have noticed in your Pokémon Legends Arceus games that, from time to time, icons in the shape of a satchel appear on the map of the location you're in. What exactly are they? Nothing more and nothing less than lost items from other players. Game Freak's new game for Nintendo Switch includes an asynchronous multiplayer aspect so that what happens in the universe of other users is indirectly connected to your game. When you find lost items from other players you will receive Merit Points. We explain everything below.

What are Merit Points?

Pokémon Legends Arceus Merit Points are an alternative in-game currency that can be used to redeem items at Simona's bartering booth in Jubilife Village. These Merit Points are a direct reward for finding other players' lost items (you return the items when you find them). If you lose your items when you faint, other players will be able to find your items, return them to you and take Merit Points.

  • If you play offline: you will find lost items of other players (bots, controlled by AI; they are generated automatically) and you will get Merit Points. Nobody will find your lost items.
  • If you play online: you will find lost items from other real players and you will get Merit Points. Other players will be able to recover all your items. Just as a reminder, it is necessary to have an active Nintendo Switch Online account in this case.

What are Pokémon Legends Arceus merit points for?

Now, what do we do with those hundreds or thousands of Merit Points? You can exchange them at Simona's stall in Jubilife Village for really useful items: evolutionary items. Some of these items can only be obtained as a reward after defeating an Alpha Pokémon; others as a reward for Requests; others in the space-time distortions...

Below is the list of the items you can buy with Merit Points and their price. As you can see, some of these items are used to evolve creatures that were previously only evolved by exchange, such as Alakazam and Gengar, thanks to the Linking Cord. To complete the Pokédex, you will need many of these items.
