Microsoft declares its upcoming plans in terms of releases and games coming to other consoles, once the purchase of Activision Blizzard is completed.

Microsoft confirms Call of Duty and other Activison Blizzard games coming to PlayStation

FollowingMicrosoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard, it has been in doubt whether popular and best-selling titles such as Call of Duty would continue to appear on PlayStation. After the purchase of Bethesda, and the total exclusivity of future titles, the concern was understandable, but now everything has made clear.

Through a blog post, Microsoft presented their plans for how the company will adapt to the purchase of Activision Blizzard. Brad Smith, president and vice-chair of the company, mentioned that "we will continue to make popular content like Activision's Call of Duty available on competing platforms like Sony's PlayStation."

“To be clear, Microsoft will continue to make Call of Duty and other popular Activision Blizzard titles available on PlayStation through the term of any existing agreement with Activision,” it’s read on the blog. “We have committed to Sony that we will also make them available on PlayStation beyond the existing agreement and into the future so that Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love.”

In addition to continuing to work with Sony, Microsoft confirms that other titles will be coming to Nintendo. “We are also interested in taking similar steps to support Nintendo’s successful platform. We believe this is the right thing for the industry, for gamers and for our business,” he concludes.

Microsoft prepares for the future

For now, this decision shows how Microsoft is preparing and adapting for its purchase to be approved by U.S. regulators. While Brad Smith addresses concerns about whether Call of Duty will continue on the rival console, he does not make clear what will happen to other Activision Blizzard titles, or whether this decision will only be temporary.

Microsoft announced its intentions to purchase Activision Blizzard at the end of January for $68.7 billion. While the process has yet to be investigated and approved by the FTC and the Justice Department, it is expected to go through without a hitch and is expected to be completed during the fiscal year 2023. Thinking ahead, we hope that the survival game announced a couple of weeks ago by Blizzard will come to all possible consoles.
