Stranger Things Season 4 unveils posters and confirms release dates

Stranger Things Season 4 confirms its premiere date and warms up its engines with the publication of its official posters. In them, we can see the main characters in all kinds of scenarios, including the famous laboratory and the mysterious Creel House. "Every ending has a beginning," reads the header of each one. On the other hand, Netflix reveals the decision to split the lead-up to the series' conclusion into two different volumes (Yes, there will be a fifth season). Volume 1 will premiere on May 27, while Volume 2 will premiere on July 1. The production company shares a statement where they clarify the reasons that have led them to do so.

“With nine scripts, over 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual-effects shots and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one,” begin Matt and Ross Duffer, producers of the series. Both emphasize that the content of the season is "bigger than ever," which has motivated the decision to split it into two parts.

Furthermore, the Duffer brothers say they planned from the beginning that the series' story arc would "last four to five seasons." "It proved too large to tell in four, but — as you’ll soon see for yourselves — we are not hurling toward our finale. Season 4 will be the penultimate season; Season 5 will be the last," they explain.

We're nearing the end, but the Duffer's reassure fans: there's plenty of material left. “There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes." However, before exploring other horizons they want to close the arc that revolves around the town of Hawkins.

Stranger Things Season 4, everything we know

We know little concrete information about the events it will narrate. We do know from its producer, Shawn Levy, that this season will be "more epic and cinematic" than the rest. "Both of those are true. It’s epic storytelling. It’s still rooted in character, but the scope of the storytelling is more epic and cinematic than we’ve ever attempted before," Levy told Slash Film.

The cast will be led by recurring performers in the saga, such as Millie Bobbie Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Cary Elwes, Jake Busey, Maya Thurman-Hawk, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono and Brett Gelman. In addition, new actors will join the cast, including Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko and Robert Englund.
