Pokémon prepares for Pokémon Day with one announcement a day throughout the week

The Pokémon Company has not waited too long to confirm that this week we will have a news a day related to different video games and products of the franchise. All this because Sunday, February 27 will be the twenty-sixth anniversary of Pokémon, better known as Pokémon Day. The Japanese firm usually holds a Pokémon Presents every year on the 27th and, although nothing has been announced so far, it is confirmed that there will be something this Sunday. Let's take a look at the roadmap.

Here's what's in store for Pokémon Day 2022 week: what's new from February 21 to 27

In the absence of knowing more details about what awaits us this Sunday, February 27, the official schedule remains as follows; with prominent names like Pokémon Sword and Shield (2019, Nintendo Switch), which already had an Expansion Pass in 2020 with The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra.

It remains to be seen whether the Japanese company plans to publish a new Expansion Pass in view of the success of the first one, which has allowed Sword and Shield to continue selling millions of units each year without the need for a third expanded version.

  • Monday, February 21: Pokémon Masters EX (iOS, Android)
  • Tuesday, February 22: Pokémon Sword and Shield (Nintendo Switch)

New Kanto and Johto artwork, are they related to an announcement?

We take this opportunity to leave you with these two Generation I commemorative arts, with Red choosing Squirtle, Charmander or Bulbasaur in Professor Oak's Lab; and the second art, with Gold on a Croconaw facing the Red Gyarados of Johto's Lake of Rage.

Both illustrations do not anticipate anything, at least for the time being, of future Pokémon Red/Blue/Green or Pokémon Gold/Silver spin-off plans. In years past, the Nintendo 3DS received the original Game Boy editions on the eShop/Virtual Console in 2016, this on the occasion of the 20th anniversary. A Nintendo Switch re-release? A related DLC for Pokémon Legends Arceus? We will soon find out for sure.
