We tell you everything you need to know to enjoy the most special community event of the year in Pokémon GO. The question: Silver or Gold Version?
The Pokémon GO Tour Johto is about to kick off. Trainers from around the world will be able to enjoy this massive community event dedicated to Generation II this Saturday in the same spirit as last year's Pokémon GO Kanto Tour. Only this time focused on the mythical second generation, the one with Chicorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Celebi and company. We tell you when it is, how much the ticket costs, all the features of the event and the differences between the Gold Version and the Silver Version.
Date, time and features of Pokémon GO Tour: Johto
The Pokémon GO Tour: Johto takes place this Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 9:00 to 21:00 (local time), just one day before Pokémon Day, where we will have a 14-minute Pokémon Presents with news about the future of the saga. These are the bonuses of the event for buying the ticket:
- All Johto Pokémon will appear in the wild, in raids and in encounters following research tasks. All will be available in their shiny version, including Unown.
- All Johto Pokémon will be attracted to Incense, will appear when hatching Eggs, can be traded with friends, and can be obtained through the evolution process for the duration of the event.
- Event-exclusive special research that will lead to an encounter with Celebi, the Mythical Pokémon.
- Once we complete it, we will access a second exclusive Masterwork Research story "intended to be worked on over a long period of time. This will test your skills as a Trainer."
- A free bundle containing three Remote Raid Passes will be available in the shop.
- Eggs will require one-quarter their normal Hatch Distance.
- You’ll earn twice the Candy for hatching Eggs.
- You’ll earn extra Candy when catching featured Johto Pokémon
- You’ll get an exclusive in-game medal to commemorate the event.
- You’ll get up to nine free Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
Ticket price: Gold or Silver Version
Pokémon GO Johto Tour tickets are available for purchase from the in-game Store at a price of $11.99. We cannot change the Version once we have chosen one of the two.
Exclusive Pokémon in the Gold and Silver Versions: Differences
- Gold Version–exclusive Pokémon: Spinarak, Gligar, Teddiursa, and Mantine will be attracted to Incense. You’ll have an increased chance of encountering these Shiny Pokémon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Spinarak, Igglybuff, Natu, Hoppip, Sunkern, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Gligar, Shuckle, Teddiursa, Swinub, Mantine, and Ho-Oh.
- Silver Version–exclusive Pokémon: Ledyba, Delibird, Skarmory, and Phanpy will be attracted to Incense. You’ll have an increased chance of encountering these Shiny Pokémon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Ledyba, Cleffa, Sudowoodo, Hoppip, Yanma, Pineco, Delibird, Skarmory, Houndour, Phanpy, Miltank, Larvitar, and Lugia.
