Ubisoft suffers cyberattack, but there's "no evidence" that personal data has been stolen

The French company has issued an official statement confirming that they are investigating the “cyber security incident" they had last week.

Update:
Ubisoft suffers cyberattack, but there's "no evidence" that personal data has been stolen

The issues that occurred last week in certain Ubisoft games and services were due to a cyber attack. This has been admitted by the French company in an official statement, in which they assure that they are already investigating the matter. However, the first investigations seem to confirm that this did not cause any kind of sensitive information theft from players.

“Last week, Ubisoft experienced a cyber security incident that caused temporary disruption to some of our games, systems, and services,” reads the statement. “Our IT teams are working with leading external experts to investigate the issue. As a precautionary measure we initiated a company-wide password reset. Also, we can confirm that all our games and services are functioning normally.”

What about personal information?

On the issue of customers' personal information, Ubisoft has claimed that they have found no evidence that data has been compromised. Ubisoft stated: "there is no evidence any player personal information was accessed or exposed as a by-product of this incident" or that it has been "exposed" after the attack. Cyberattacks have been frequent in recent weeks. Major companies such as NVIDIA and Samsung have been targeted by hackers.

Ubisoft has just released Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök, a completely new expansion that kicks off Valhalla's second year of post-launch content. Ubisoft Sofia has been the studio in charge of continuing the story of Odin, who travels to the kingdom of the dwarves to recover his son Balder and to get revenge on Surtr for his insult. It is a continuation of the mythological sections that we already lived in the base game. Regarding the future, the company has not yet revealed what the roadmap will be. Will there be more stories? Anything is possible.
