Pokémon World Championships 2022 confirms date and location

The Pokémon Company confirms the first details of the Pokémon World Championships 2022. The ExCeL London convention center in the British capital will host the long-awaited event between August 18 and 21.

The four-day event will include Pokémon TCG tournaments for various Pokémon games, as well as Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE and Pokkén Tournament DX. During the same days, guests will be able to visit a Pokémon Center store located in the same convention center. Among the items, they will find "variety of products including a range of items themed around the tournament" while supplies last.

Worlds is now a four-day event, with exciting activities for players and spectators alike,” reveals the company in a post on its official website. “The very best Pokémon Trainers will be vying for the title of World Champion, but that's only the beginning of the fun—other activities will be available for all Pokémon fans.”

Invited players will not be required to pay registration fees to participate. However, they will have to pay a "nominal fee" for the spectator badges. The Pokémon Company is keeping an eye out for more details on availability and cost in the near future.
