House of the Dragon confirms its premiere date on HBO Max. The Game of Thrones spin-off will take us back to George R.R. Martin's world on August 21. Along with the date, the production company has once again shared the dragon egg that has accompanied the series since its reveal, among other images of the main characters. The era of Blood and Fire is getting closer and closer.

Everything we know about House of the Dragon

The series will tell the story of House Targaryen 200 years before the events known to all in Game of Thrones. A Song of Ice and Fire fans already know some elements of their background, such as their affinity with dragons and the peculiarity of their lineage with fire. Their emblem, the multi-headed dragon, imposes on their rivals.

For now, we know that filming finished last February. George R.R. Martin was in charge of sharing the news on social media. According to the writer, the script, direction and performances look "incredible". "Hats off to Ryan, Miguel, his team and the amazing cast," he said. The first season will consist of ten episodes.

Paddy Considine leads the cast as King Viserys Targaryen, who you can see in the photo at the top of this article. He is followed by some exceptional performers: Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Emma D'Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), Matt Smith (Prince Daemon Targaryen), Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon, The Sea Serpent), Eve Best (Princess Rhaenys Velaryon), Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria), Milly Alcock (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as a young girl), Fabiel Frankel (Ser Criston Cole), Ryan Corr (Ser Harwin 'Breakbones' Strong), David Horovitch (Grand Maester Mellos), Jefferson Hall (Lord Jason Lannister), Bill Paterson (Lord Lyman Beesbury), Matthew Needham (Larys Strong) and Gavin Spokes (Lord Lyonel Strong), among others.
