Update:
E3 2022 canceled; ESA plans to return in 2023, IGN says

E3 2022 is officially canceled. The news has come out through an email addressed to some personalities, including Will Powers, Razer's public relations lead. The cancellation covers the digital format, so there will be no celebration of any kind.

According to the information IGN through its sources, talks to make a digital equivalent have remained in the air so far, but have not materialized. The ESA, the organizing group behind E3, is reportedly preparing for "a reinvigorated showcase" for next year. We must wait for the next dates to officially know the intentions of the collective.

Summer Game Fest reinforces its presence: "Join us this June".

Geoff Keighley has not missed the moment to reinforce the presence of Summer Game Fest in the industry calendar. The producer's event confirms its celebration next June "featuring a spectacular live kickoff show" presented by himself. "The video game industry unites to preview what's next," reads the header of its official website.

So far the publishers that will participate have not been confirmed. If we look at last year's grid we can find names like PlayStation, Xbox, 2K Games, Activision, Bandai Namco Entertainment, SEGA and Electronic Arts, among others.

The 2021 edition left as a highlight the first playable glimpse of Elden Ring. From Software chose the conclusion of the event to show one of the most demanded previews by the community at the time. In addition, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands confirmed its future release, as well as Kojima's Death Stranding: Director's Cut. Jurassic World Evolution 2, Metal Slug Tactics and Lost Ark put the cherry on top of the night.
