Despite the radio silence and rumors, Nintendo's latest financial report maintains Bayonetta 3 on its 2022 release schedule.

Nintendo insists once again: Bayonetta 3 will arrive in 2022

Keep believing! Bayonetta 3 exists and we will see it sooner rather than later. Or at least, this is what Nintendo's latest financial report tells us. In it, the Kyoto company updates its release schedule for the remainder of the year and leaves the witch of Platinum Games accompanied by a number that when you've been waiting for 5 years, it seems wonderful: 2022.

Announced at The Game Awards 2017 and missing in action thereafter, Bayonetta 3 was resurrected during a Nintendo Direct held in September 2021. It did so with a spectacular trailer confirming that it would be released this year. And despite initial skepticism and rumors, the game looks like it will keep its word.

All Nintendo games for 2022

There would be no need to lie in a report that also dates the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for spring 2023 and where titles like Metroid Prime 4 and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp are still to be announced. So, this is the timeline foreseen by the company for the remainder of 2022:

What can we expect from Bayonetta 3?

Although we haven't seen Cherry in motion since that last trailer, the news has been coming in thick and fast, and it couldn't be more positive. Without going any further, its creator, Hideki Kamiya, assured that Bayonetta 3 will exceed our expectations and even dares to dream of a Bayonetta 4. "If there is interest there is no reason to stop the saga," he declared.

Kamiya has also promised new gameplay features for this installment and strongly recommends playing the first two before anything else. Otherwise, and despite the fact that Platinum Games has changed its philosophy to bet on the so-called "games as a service", Bayonetta 3 will be faithful to its original spirit and will have nothing of these or any link with the NFTs. Hopefully, its final date won't take much longer to be announced.
