Update:
GoldenEye 007 HD resurfaces after the appearance of a new achievement on Xbox

James Bond will have a license to kill on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S if the re-release of the classic GodenEye 007, whose HD remastering appears to be in the works, materializes. It's not the first time Rare employees have had an achievement slip through, something that has happened again, as reported by VGC. In fact, the mythical FPS is also listed on Microsoft's servers, a further clue that reinforces the possible return.

True Achievements has tracked and detected the unlocking of a public achievement earned by BIGsheep, a name that links to an alleged Rare developer who has been working on the video game since October 2021. For the moment, however, neither the British studio nor Microsoft have officially confirmed that they are developing the revamped version of the legendary Nintendo 64 game.

It was never approved, but a team of developers was involved in the development of a GoldenEye 007 remaster for Xbox Live Arcade. Negotiations with Microsoft progressed, although the deal was never signed. However, the group of developers continued working, to the point that one of the builds was leaked some time ago and it was possible to test it.

James Bond 007's future is in the hands of IO-Interactive, the creators of Hitman. The studio will not draw inspiration from any film, nor will it use any of the actors from the films. Thus, the intention is to create a digital Bond that will serve to build its own stories.

GoldenEye 007 is a Nintendo 64 exclusive game based on the movie of the same name starring Pierce Brosnan, which was released in 1995. After the success of the title, and some years later, Electronic Arts released a game with the same name, although it actually had nothing to do with the original title. years later, at the time when Activision Blizzard had the license, it published a sort of free remake of the title. The video game's branding has recently been renewed.
