Update:
Battlefield 2042 Zero Hour, first season, second chance

Through a digital presentation, Electronic Arts and DICE showed us a preview of what will be the first season of Battlefield 2042 Zero Hour; the new expansion of the controversial shooter that will seek to redeem itself among users.

It is important to note that before announcing the changes, Ryan McArthur, Senior Producer of the game, emphasized that the team is aware that the game had inconsistencies at launch, but based on the feedback they had from the community the following changes were made.

Maps

The first scenario that will change with the arrival of season 1 will be Kaleidoscope, which will now include new areas for respawning and, above all, more elements in the terrain that will allow you to take cover. This will seek to provoke a greater challenge in close combat and melee. Now we will see barricades, containers and barriers that seek to encourage destruction in order to unmask the enemy.

A sort of base or fort has been set up in the park, made up of containers and barricades that can serve as a defense, and therefore a challenge for attackers.

On the other hand, the data center now has more defense points at each of the entrances, so the attack will now have to be much more tactical.

The tower, meanwhile, will have the second base control center, a crucial point to conquer because of the points it has to defend itself.

Experiences and styles

According to player feedback, Battlefield 2042 will continue with the 128-player mode, but future updates will have a smaller scale, as they want to focus on flexibility and coverages in all spaces.

Game core

There will also be adjustments in the visuals, animations, modeling, as well as in the audio of the specialists to be more in line with the serious tone that Battlefield 2042 seeks to give. Weapons will also be adjusted for a more equitable performance in both the console and PC versions.

New Season 1 content

In this downloadable we will find a new specialist of Polish origin called Ewelina Lis, who has among her special features a G-84 TGM, a kind of bazooka that allows you to remotely control the missile through a monitor to shoot down vehicles, tanks or helicopters. She is an engineer by class and her trait is the Armor Hunter, which allows her to identify tanks or other enemy vehicles.

The new map is called Exposure and is the one we had the opportunity to play for a couple of hours in its PC version. What is outstanding about this place is its verticality, this has several levels that you can approach in different ways, either by means of an aircraft, rappel lines, parachute or wingsuit.

The new vehicles are the YG-99 Hannibal and the RAH Huron, both helicopters; the weapons are the Ghostmaker Rid and the BSV-M, as well as the smoke grenade launcher in the gadget category.

Battlefield Portal will support more vehicles, there will be new highlights within the community and will integrate new experiences.

The store, meanwhile, will change its layout and the Battle Pass will have 100 levels, special skins for specialists, helicopters and weapons.

Battlefield 2042: Zero Hour will arrive on June 9th on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
