Update:
Marvel's Midnight Suns brings out its best in a new trailer and announces a new date

It had been missing for a while, but the cards are back on the table. Marvel's Midnight Suns, the tactical RPG from Firaxis (creators of Civilization VI and XCOM) has been shown at the Summer Game Fest gala. It has done so through a new trailer, which you can see in this same news. The video introduces characters such as Spider-Man and Hulk, while confirming the new release date: October 7.

The Firaxis title will offer as a pre-order incentive a Doctor Strange skin, a character we recently saw in the movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

What's the story?

Using magic and the power of shadows, Lilith has come back to life. The Mother of Demons has been resurrected by Hydra after spending several centuries in slumber. It does not seem that the years of sleep have diminished her evil intentions, because as soon as she wakes up, she begins to hatch a plan to resurrect her devious master, Chthon. Faced with this situation, the Avengers will have to take action.

The protectors of the world ask for help to the Midnight Sons, a group of superheroes that counts in its ranks with Nico Minoru, Magic, Blade and Ghost Rider, beings with supernatural powers that will do everything possible to stop Lilith. They will be the ones who resurrect The Hunter, that is, the protagonist that we control during the adventure. This character is the only one who has managed to defeat her, the last hope of humanity.

It has been confirmed that the main character will be fully customizable, so we will be able to create our ideal hero. Firaxis and Marvel have worked together to provide the title with a strong storyline and gameplay, although it is obviously not linked in any way to the Cinematic Universe.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia. Although it was initially scheduled for March 2022, the studio delayed it because they needed more time to polish the gameplay experience. It will have to wait until October 7.
