Silent Hill 2 Remake is now official: trailer and first details

It's official: Silent Hill 2 Remake is on its way to the market. Bloober Team is the studio in charge of the return of Konami's mythical title. Few details have been shared, except that it is in development based on Unreal Engine and that it will be coming to PS5 and PC soon. In fact, it will be a temporary console exclusive for at least 12 months from launch. Both Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito are involved as close support for the Polish team. We know that the gameplay "will be modernized" and the camera will be over the shoulder.

Bloober Team's resume before Silent Hill

The return of Silent Hill was an open secret since Konami confirmed last year the signing of Bloober Team. The weatherman had been predicting fog since then; sooner or later, he had to get one right. Now, talking about Silent Hill means talking about one of the benchmarks of the industry, a cult saga that every survival horror fan should try once in a lifetime. That's why everything related to this return will be closely scrutinized and there are many who have already asked for the curriculum of poor Bloober to know in whose hands the franchise's future is being placed. As you know, every parent believes that there is no partner worthy of their offspring, and which developer is worthy of James Sunderland, Mary, or Pyramid Head?

Although some colleagues at MeriStation have admitted that they don't think it's the ideal studio, we've also been fair to the humble Polish studio, which has been specializing in the horror genre for more than six years. In the end, whether we take one side or the other, there is only one clear conclusion: the return of the franchise is an absolute joy for video games and we must wish it all the best of luck so that it is not one last dance. We had gone since Downpour without a main installment and the drama of Kojima and PT left us wanting to know more back in 2014. Now is not the time to be wary, but to row together towards the place where the siren noise is coming from. We have never forgotten that noise.
