God of War Ragnarök will have a Photo Mode added after launch
Santa Monica Studio has promised more details to come right closer to its release.
If something can’t be absent in modern day games, it's Photo Mode: a developer’s invitation for players to release the artist inside of them and share their creations with everyone else. However, it seems God of War Ragnarök will not include one at launch. But don’t worry! Sony Santa Monica has already addressed it and they’re working on implementing the feature, even if it arrives a bit after the game’s release date.
“Photo Mode will be coming to God of War Ragarök after launch - we’ll share more details closer to when we plan to release it”, posted the studio’s official Twitter account. “We can’t wait to see all of your captures once it’s live!”.
For now, you can get a good idea of what this future mode might be by replaying the previous game from 2018. Photo Mode allowed the players to adjust several parameters such as depth of field, focus, facial expressions of the protagonists, a wide variety of filters, and much more.
Has the PS4 limited God of War Ragnarök?
Kratos and Atreus’ next chapter will be available on PS4 as well as PS5. In other words, we’re dealing with a cross-generational title. Since this was announced some people believe that the fact that it has to be playable on a last gen console means the devs had to restrict its performance on PS5. According to Sony Santa Monica, Ragnarök was built from the ground up with PlayStation 4 in mind.
According to the devs, the game plays better on PS5, but the game was made with the objective of not limiting neither of the 2 versions. Therefore, even while it runs smoothly on PS4, they make use of the newer hardware as much as possible.
God of War Ragnarök is the las big game from PlayStation Studios for the rest of the year. The game will be released on November 9 for PS4 and PS5.
