HBO Max
HBO’s The Last of Us now has a release date, much sooner than expected
We all counted on it arriving in 2023, but not so early into the year. We’ll be suffering through Joel and Ellie’s incredibly harrowing journey very soon.
As if the year hasn’t already been amazing for TV with House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the coming months promise to keep the hype up. HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us is one of the most awaited series, and while we knew it was coming relatively soon, its official release date has been revealed to be January 15th, 2023. That’s barely more than two months!
HBO Max subscribers are the ones responsible for finding this out, such as popular YouTuber DomTheBomb, who shared photos of their HBO Max accounts where the first season page is accompanied by a short description and the release date.
If you still haven’t watched the series’ first trailer, you can watch it here and find out how Ellie (Bella Ramsey), Joel (Pedro Pascal), Tess (Anna Torv), and the rest of the cast look like in this live-action adaptation. You may even recognize a few of the game’s most emotional moments.
The Last of Us: Part I is available on PS5
A little more than a month ago, the PS5 catalog got expanded with one of its biggest launches from the past year: the return of Naughty Dog survival adventure in a new version built from the ground up. A fully fledged remake that aimed to upgrade the graphics, sound design, and gameplay elements to the 2013 title. If you didn’t play the original when it released back on the PS3 (or it’s remaster on PS4), this version includes all of the content released for the title after its original launch, except for the multiplayer modes.
And that’s because Naughty Dog is still working on Factions, the promised multiplayer component that was supposed to arrive with The Last of Us: Part II and that eventually became an ambitious standalone title to release in 2023.
