The Acolyte, Star Wars’ Disney+ thriller, confirms the full cast including Carrie-Anne Moss
The next Star Wars series in Disney+ has released the first official production details, including big names for the cast like Carrie-Anne Moss and Lee Jung-jae
The Acolyte, one of Star Wars’ new series, has confirmed its production start by revealing both its official casting and the show’s synopsis. Disney shared a star studded cast led by Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Dafne Keen (Logan), and Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game). As of this moment there’s still no release date announced, although there’s been rumors of a release towards the end of 2023.
The Acolyte and its promising cast
This new Star Wars series is set to take place during the last days of the High Republic era. Beyond the previously named Carrie Anne-Moss, Dafne Keen, and Lee Jung-jae, the series will also have Amanda Stenberg (The Hate U Give), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) and Dean-Charles Chapman (1917).
Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) will act as showrunner as well as an executive producer for the show, and she will also direct the pilot episode. Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef will act as executive producers alongside others like Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson. On the other hand, an official synopsis that contradicts all of the supposed leaks from the past few months was also released:
“The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”
As of this moment, there’s still no release date for The Acolyte. However, it is suspected that the series should release at some point towards the end of 2023.
