Monster Hunter Rise is jumping to PlayStation and Xbox; launching on Game Pass

The information, leaked before it was meant to, has been confirmed officially by Capcom.

Update:
Monster Hunter Rise is jumping to PlayStation and Xbox; launching on Game Pass

Originally launched as an exclusive title for the Nintendo Switch (and eventually ported to PC with high resolution graphics), Capcom has now confirmed the leaks and announced that Monster Hunter Rise will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on January 20. As if that wasn’t enough, Microsoft has revealed that the title will be available on the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass services simultaneously on release day.

The title will be sold for $39.99, however this is only for the base game and does not include the recent expansion. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is set to be released afterwards during Spring 2023, although there is still no news on a specific date. According to official information, the base game will come to the new platforms with every single update there’s been up to version 10, which means it will include every monster and event that has already appeared on Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Xbox Series X and PS5 upgrades

As is to be expected, the new generation of consoles will include some special improvements. Capcom’s blog points out that players will be able to choose between two graphic modes: one will be 4K resolution and 60 FPS, the other will be 1080p and 120 FPS. Both will make use of 3D audio, while the PlayStation 5 version will make full use of the DualSense’s haptic feedback while blocking or with certain weapons.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have the option of playing the game at no extra cost. Those that have an Ultimate membership will be able to enjoy the title through Xbox Cloud Gaming’s streaming service.

The Monster hunt continues. Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak, are already available on Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam).
