Cinderace, a Pokémon introduced in Generation 8, makes its debut in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet: it arrives in a 7-Star Tera Raid with the Fighting Tera Type. In this Pokémon Scarlet & Violet guide, we tell you how to participate in the Raid and how to defeat the 7-Star Cinderace. Read on:

How to participate in 6 and 7 Star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet? Requirements

In order to take part in 6 and 7 Stars Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, we must first have completed the following:

  1. We must have completed the main story, which ends with the final fight in Area Zero.
  2. After this, we must complete the postgame content, which culminates in winning the Academy Ace Tournament. This unlocks the 5 and 6 Star Tera Raids in our game.
  3. Upon completing a total of 10 Tera Raids of 4 Stars or more, Jacq will call us to tell us that Black Crystals have started to appear in Paldea, which are those of the 6 and 7 Star Tera Raids.

Of course, there is a simpler option than all this, and that is that a player who has completed everything in the list above invites us to the Cinderace Tera Raid by sharing a Link Code. Ask your friends, maybe someone has it available and can invite you. And remember that to force the game to be updated with the latest Tera Raids events, we must go to PokéPortal > Mystery Gift > Receive news from the Poképortal.

7-Stars Fighting Tera-type Cinderace in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet: dates and times

Cinderace has arrived in Pokémon Scarlet & Pokémon Violet as part of a limited-time event: it appears in Tera Raids of 7-Star Black Crystals between Thursday, December 29 at 4:00 pm / 7:00 pm and Sunday, January 1 at 3:59 pm PT.

It will also be back, again in 7-Star Black Crystal Tera Raids between Friday, January 13, 2023 at 4:00 pm PT / 7:00 pm ET and Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 3:59 pm PT / 6:59 pm. ET

Where to find Cinderace's 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The Black Crystal corresponding to the 7-Star Cinderace Tera Raid can appear randomly in our game at any point on the map. Therefore, we will have to look at it carefully to see if it has appeared or not. It is a shiny black Fighting Type icon that looks like this:

We can also go directly to its Tera Raid from the PokéPortal > Tera Raids. Here we select the silhouette of Cinderace.

How to defeat the 7-Star Fighting Tera-type Cinderace in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The perfect Pokémon to face Cinderace is Espathra, the ostrich Pokémon. It can be captured in the following habitats:

This is what we need before we start:

  • Have an Espathra at level 100 with maximum IVs and maximum EVs in HP and Special Attack (252 HP, 252 Special Attack and 4 Defense). Must have the Psychic Tera Type.
  • As an equipped item, Shell Bell. This item allows you to recover some HP each time its bearer inflicts damage to rival Pokémon.
  • The moveset should be Lumina Crash, Stored Power, Rain Dance and Feather Dance. We can also use Reflect instead of Rain Dance.
  • Its Nature must be Modest. If our Pokémon does not have this Nature, we can modify it using a Modest Mint that we can buy at Chansey Supply for 20,000 Pokédollars. In Mesagoza there is one in the main square.
  • Its Ability must be Opportunist. If our Pokémon does not have this Ability, we can modify it using Ability Capsules. We obtain this item randomly by completing Tera Raids of 6 and 7 Stars. It can also be purchased at the Chansey Supply for 100,000 Pokédollars. In Mesagoza there is one in the main square.

If we meet all the requirements mentioned above, it is perfectly possible to defeat Fighting Tera-type Cinderace of 7 Stars even when playing alone. The motives for our choice are as follows:

  • Espathra is a Psychic Type. Psychic-Type Pokémon take less damage from Fighting-Type moves, and inflict additional damage when using Psychic-Type moves. And Fighting-type Pokémon take additional damage from Psychic-type attacks.
  • Cinderace uses Bulk Up constantly, increasing his Attack and Defense. The Opportunistic Ability copies these attribute enhancements automatically.
  • Using Rain Dance reduces the damage of Cinderace's Fire attacks.
  • Using Feather Dance or Reflect we reduce the damage of Cinderace's physical attacks.
  • The Shell Bell causes us to gradually heal some HP when attacking.
  • Lumina Crash can lower Cinderace's Special Defense by two levels. We can use it without fear if we are in good health and if Cinderace decides to eliminate its negative effects constantly.
  • If we accumulate a lot of Attack and Defense with Opportunist, we use Stored Power to inflict a lot of damage.

To sum up: as soon as the combat starts, we use Rain Dance/Reflect, and the next turn we use Feather Dance or, if we need health, Lumina Crash. If Cinderace starts to power up with Bulk Up, we respond with Feather Dance and/or Rain Dance. The idea is to use Lumina Crash several times to lower his Special Defense as much as we can, use Teracrystallization when we've landed three attacks and, from there, use Stored Power. Remember that if the rain or the Reflex effect ends, we must use those moves again.

What rewards do we get for defeating 7-Star Fighting Tera-type Cinderace in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The first reward is the most obvious: a Cinderace with the Fighting Tera Type that comes with the Mightiest Mark, to remind us of our feat. In addition, it is level 100, comes with the moves High Jump Kick, Pyro Ball, Acrobatics, and Iron Head, the Libero Skill, maximum IVs and has the minimum EVs so we can improve them as we want. Of course, we can only get one of this Cinderace per game.

Of course, we also have varied rewards in the form of many . Candies L, XL, and Rare Candy, an Ability Patch (which allows us to change a Pokémon's Ability to another one), upgrade items such as Protein and PP UP, the TM064 - Bulk Up and Fighting Tera Shards.
