Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania gets a new trailer
Marvel’s Ant-family is getting bigger, and their next adventure will test how strong (or lucky) they are when going head to head against Kang the Conqueror.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is just over a month away from release, and Marvel has just dropped a new trailer. Witness the beginning of a new dynasty when Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Evangeline Lily’s Wasp, and the rest of the Ant-Man family face off with Jonathan Major’s Kang in the Quantum Realm.
This new trailer premiered tonight during the College Football Playoff National Championship, just as Marvel promised earlier in the day. Given the closeness of its release to the actual movie’s release date, it’s very possible that this is one of our last previews to the start of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After a slower paced Phase 4, many fans were left wanting more out of Marvel Studios. While the lineup wasn’t bad by any means, a lack of interconnectivity, focus on TV series, and an apparent absence of direction on the overarching plot of the films meant audiences have been hoping for a return to form of the pre-endgame era. Phase 5 is looking to remedy this with a strong start, giving us Quantumania and our first look of Kang, seemingly the next Thanos-level threat in the MCU. Afterwards, we’ll see the releases of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, and Blade.
Marvel Studios also revealed a new poster for the film, in which the heroes are suited up opposite Kang in the background, with hints of the Quantum Realm’s weirdness in the forefront. It’s all looking enjoyably Star Wars-y, and we’re here for it.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/ Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, and Jonathan Majors as Kang The Conqueror. The rest of the cast includes Kathryn Newton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michawl Douglas, and Kathryn Newton. Check out the official synopsis below:
“In the film, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.”
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is coming to theaters worldwide on February 17.
