Resident Evil 4 Remake confirms a photo mode, New Game+, and much more

Capcom is putting everything they have into the Resident Evil 4 Remake, answering over 80 questions about everything coming with Leon’s return

Update:
Resident Evil 4 Remake confirms a photo mode, New Game+, and much more

There is just over a month left for the launch of Resident Evil 4 Remake and two of the top managers of the project, Yasuhiro Ampo (its director) and Yoshiaki Hirabayashi (Capcom producer), have given an interview to Game Informer, during which they’ve answered more than 80 questions about the game. And although many of the questions were in a humorous tone and most of their answers were monosyllabic, the exchange has helped us to learn even more details about the title. Resident Evil Remake 2 set the bar very high, but RE 4 Remake seems poised to take the crown away as best remake ever.

Ampo and Hirabayashi claim, for example, that Resident Evil 4 Remake is scarier than the original, at least in their opinion, and clarify that the game takes into account the narrative nuances that RE 2 Remake brought to the story. Both repeat that this time there will be almost no quick time events and they promise that the fight with Krauser will not be a simple duel of knives via QTE. They also confirmed a photo mode, new game plus and haptic functions for the Dualsense. They joked that Ashley has overcome her fear of stairs and now she can go up and down on her own, ceasing to be a burden and becoming a true companion. They downplay the rumors that spoke of the disappearance of the island area (which will not be bigger nor shorter, but it will be revamped) and teased that the section that has indeed grown is the village.

The interview gives many more details, such as the return of snakes inside eggs and boxes, the jewels in the nests of birds or puzzles like stained glass in the church. They also confirmed that regenerators are still the scariest enemy in the game and that although there are no new creatures, there will be some that look different. They also said that you can learn a little more about Ramón Salazar and other characters through new collectibles, and that Ada's role has been made more important, and that there will be several controller schemes to choose from. One even simulates the Gamecube controller from back in its day, although slightly improved.

We leave you with the video and we remind you that Resident Evil 4 Remake comes out this March 24, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
