Hogwarts Legacy won’t receive any DLCs or expansions, at least for now
Hogwarts Legacy’s director admits there’s no plans for expansions at the moment, since the team has been focusing on the release of every other version
Warner Bros. Avalanche has revealed that they currently have no plans to develop DLC or expansions for Hogwarts Legacy. This has been stated by director Alan Tew during a short interview in IGN Fan Fest. According to his words, the team has entirely focused its attention on completing the main game. However, the nuance "for the moment" does not close the doors tightly.
“We’ve been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life,” said Tew, “so at the moment there are no current plans for DLC.” In fact, Warner Bros. Avalanche continues to work on other versions of the game. Initially, the previous generation was going to come out together alongside the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC versions, but the developer decided to delay it to ensure that the product reached the quality that it deserves. Its release date on these platforms has been set for April 4.
And what about the Nintendo Switch version?
Hogwarts Legacy will be released on Nintendo Switch, and this is something we’ve known since its announcement. However, at first it was not specified whether it would be a native port or a cloud version. The studio later revealed that they were working on a native port, but that it would not be available at the same time as the other versions either. Players on Nintendo’s hybrid console will have to wait until July 25.
In this open-world adventure with an RPG twist, players step into the shoes of a fifth grader. The youngster begins their studies with the disadvantage of having to learn what other students mastered in previous courses, not to mention that they must face a dark rebellion orchestrated by the dark wizard Victor Rookwood and the goblin Ranrok and his acolytes.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. You can read our review right here.
