Cyberpunk 2077 is now verified on Steam Deck

CD Projekt RED announces that the title has been adapted for Valve's platform and is now fully playable.

Update:
Cyberpunk 2077 is now verified on Steam Deck

Step by step, CD Projekt Red is getting back on its feet after the rough launch of Cyberpunk 2077. After focusing all their efforts on fixing bugs and improving the product, the Polish studio has developed a native next-gen version of the game and announced a major expansion for 2023. Among these small victories, this includes Steam Deck support, which the studio announced via social media.

"Can't get enough of Night City? Wish you could take it with you, wherever you go? Well now you can, because Cyberpunk 2077 has been Verified for Steam Deck Compatibility!” reads the tweet. “If you already have a copy of the game in your Steam Library then it's ready to run on your Steam Deck.”

What are the four requirements Steam has for games to be verified?

According to the Steam Deck website, titles must meet the following requirements to receive the seal:

  • Input: The title must be fully compatible with controls, use appropriate input icons, and automatically display the on-screen keyboard when necessary.
  • Seamlessness: The title must not display any compatibility warnings, and launchers must be navigable with a control.
  • Display: The game must be compatible with Steam Deck's default resolution (1280x800 or 1280x720) and have appropriate default settings and readable text.
  • System Compatibility: Games and middleware running on Proton must be compatible with Proton and anti-cheating systems.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. The Phantom Liberty expansion, which will include actor Idris Elba in the starring role, will only be released on compatible and next-generation systems. Similarly, upcoming updates to the main game - including a complete overhaul of the police chase system - will only be implemented on these systems.
