Update:

Team Netherlands is hands down the best team in Europe and with a coaching staff that includes legends like Andruw Jones, they bring a wealth of experience to the table. Team Netherlands’ pitching is some of the best you are likely to see in the WBC and they are making a concerted effort to reach the final this year. Punching their way out of Pool D should will be a challenge as they will have to face the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Israel.

As we approach the Netherlands’ first game we’ll update you here with their starting lineup and pitcher.

Team Netherlands’ infield is a solid block with Xander Bogaerts, Jonathan Schoop and Didi Gregorius underpining a defense that should provide for excitement from start to finish. The rest of the squad will feature some top MLB prospects and an attack that can jump on top of any pitching staff at just about any point. The Netherlands could make the quarterfinals and might make a deep push toward earning their first WBC title.
