Team Nicaragua have made it back to World Baseball Classic after playing in 2023. They have a long history in the WBC’s predecessor, the Baseball World Cup, where they finished as runner up five times. There is a sting in their tail for those who don’t show them respect.

Along with Panama, Nicaragua are one of the strongest sides in Central America, and this baseball-mad country reacted with euphoria to their qualification. Landing in Pool D, they will play their group stage games in Miami, where a strong and vocal fan base can be expected to push them on.
