The 2022 campaign will be unforgettable for Aaron Judge. With 16 games to go, the Yankees outfielder is already among the best home run hitters in history and he still has time to make his legacy bigger.

This Sunday, during the Yankees’ 12-8 electronic victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, Judge hit two home runs and put his personal tally at 59 during the current season.

With his 59 home runs in 2022, Judge tied Babe Ruth and Giancarlo Stanton for the list of players with the most home runs in a season. Likewise, ‘The Judge’ is sitting on the ninth step of that list.

During his two-homer performance, Judge broke Alex Rodriguez’s record of 57 home runs with the Rangers in 2002. In addition, he passed Ryan Howard and Mark McGwire (both 58 HRs), who shared the eleventh position.

This is what the top 10 looks like after Judge's performance:

Maris' record in jeopardy

The Yankees have played 146 games in the current schedule and Judge only needs two more homers to match Roger Maris’ mark (61) for most HRs in an NY season.

“We have 16 important games,” he told reporters. “We have a lot of division rivals ahead of us. We must take charge of what happens on the field and everything else will happen.”

At the moment, Judge is on track to hit 65 home runs. If the forecast is fulfilled, he would be ranked fourth on the all-time list, sharing a place with McGwire, and only below Barry Bonds, McGwire and Sammy Sosa.
