Aaron Judge ‘on fire’ as Yankees record seventh straight win

On Saturday evening, the NY Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox at Rate Field in an extra-inning game with a final score of 5-3 to record their seventh straight victory.

The game was tied 2-2 going into the 11th inning with the New Yorkers breaking the tie with a three-run rally, starting with a go-ahead RBI single from Cody Bellinger. Jazz Chisholm Jr. followed with an RBI double and Anthony Volpe added another run with a double. The Sox managed to score one run in the bottom of the 11th but it wasn’t enough.

Aaron Judge hit his league-leading 42nd home run for the Yankees in the 4th inning and he and is now just one away from equalling Yogi Berra (358) for fifth place on the all-time franchise list.

Austin Wells also hit a solo homer in the 7th but the Sox tied the game in the 5th and again in the 7th with RBI singles from Mike Tauchman and Chase Meidroth, respectively.

The Yankees pitching was strong, with starter Cam Schlittler giving up only one run in six innings and striking out eight. David Bednar earned the win in relief, and Camilo Doval, in his first save opportunity with the Yankees, closed out the game.

The victory extended the Yankees’ winning streak to seven games and brought them within two games of the lead in the American League East. The White Sox have now lost five straight.
