Update:

Major League Baseball’s (MLB) regular season attendance has recently shown solid growth post pandemic, reaching over 70 million fans for multiple seasons.

The 2025 MLB season drew a total attendance of 71,409,421 fans and the total attendance has surpassed the 70 million benchmark for three consecutive seasons (2023, 2024, and 2025), a feat not achieved since 2015-2017.

This is the first time the league has seen three straight years of attendance growth (2023-2025), which is the first time that has happened since 2005-2007.

Highest Team Attendance

The all-time single-season team attendance record is held by the Colorado Rockies with 4,483,350 fans in their inaugural 1993 season, played at Mile High Stadium.

This season, the Los Angeles Dodgers passed the 4 million spectators mark in total attendance for the first time ever, while the San Diego Padres set a franchise record with 3.4 million in attendance.

The Dodgers’ 4 million plus mark sees them become the first team to do so since the Yankees and Mets in 2008.

The overall trend in the 2020s has been one of rebound and growth following the pandemic-affected seasons of 2020 and 2021, with some attributing the recent increases to rule changes like the pitch clock, which have shortened average game times.

The increase in interest is not just for spectator numbers at ballparks as there has also been an MLB uplift on television. National, local games, as well as games in Japan, all had viewership increased.
