The Philadelphia Phillies will be missing two of their best players for an extended period as the team announced that they have placed first baseman Bryce Harper and designated hitter Kyle Schwarber on the 10-day disabled list.

On the same night that he was named to the National League’s starting lineup for the 2024 All-Star Game, Harper suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg during the final play of their loss to the Miami Marlins. Harper exits the lineup hitting .300 with 87 hits and 58 RBIs and 20 home runs in 287 at bats.

Schwarber’s groin injury occurred during the eighth inning, when he was playing left field. When Otto López tried to stretch a single into a double, Schwarbs pulled his groin making the throw to second. The Phillies regular DH has 60 hits, with 17 of them home runs, and 49 RBIs.

Who will replace Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber?

The Phillies management called Kody Clemens up from their AAA team to take Harper’s place while Johan Rojas will take Schwarber’s place. Roger Clemens’ son is in his second season with Philadelphia and has had limited participation in just 17 games in which he has hit 10 hits in 29 at-bats. The Dominican Rojas has seen action in 58 games this year and has a .235 average.
