Canada vs Colombia summary: scores, stats and highlights | 2023 World Baseball Classic
Canada vs Colombia live!
Canada seizes the moment tonight
Canada beats Colombia by five runs. Three of those in the eight. Colombia started out very well. Almeida seemed in control of the pitching. But Canada, slowly and bit by bit started to gain some Gounod on Colombia. On the top of the third, Colombia decided to change things up and bring Santamaria, who let the first run on his second try at the mount.
Canada seemed to have a plan and knew what they were doing. Canada lost by 12 to Team USA last night, but that might have been to reserve the arms for tonight. A more accessible game for the guy in the north of the continent.
Now Canada will close with Mexico for a real chance at making it out of the pool group. Colombia will have to battle it out with Team USA next. This means that the South Americans are surely out of the tournament. They did great by beating a favorite like Mexico. It is their only second outing at the WBC, so there is a lot of ground to grow.
These Canada memes are gold
