Clayton Kershaw dominates Brewers in Dodgers emphatic win
Three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw strikes out eight Brewers, pitching seven complete innings in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ win.
Clayton Kershaw earned his sixth win of the 2023 Major League Baseball season after the Dodgers (23-15) defeated the Brewers (20 -17) at American Family Field by a score of 8-1.
The three-time Cy Young winner threw seven complete innings, striking out eight while allowing five hits and just one run. Of the 92 pitches thrown by the southpaw ace, 70 were strikes.
The only run allowed by Kershaw came on the fourth inning when he surrendered a solo home run to William Contreras, who tagged an 88mph slider for 375 feet to left field.
Wander Suero came on in relief and slammed the door shut on Milwaukee, striking out three of the six batters he faced in the final two innings.

Winning is what happens when the offense backs up a great pitcher and the Dodgers hitters came to Kershaw’s aid when he needed it. The first run came from Freddie Freeman’s bat, with a home run in the fourth inning. Freeman finished the day 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs.
Los Angeles increased their lead with another bomb in the same inning, when catcher Will Smith smacked his sixth of the season.
The Dodgers’ production continued in the fifth when Freeman drove in two more runs with a line drive to right field, scoring Miguel Rojas and Trayce Thompson.
The Dodgers added two more in the sixth inning with a solo home run by Miguel Rojas and an RBI single by David Peralta.
