Clayton Kershaw is ahead of schedule
The Los Angeles Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, assured that the left pitcher would return to the lineup sooner than planned.
Clayton Kershaw has been making progress in his recovery from the surgery on his left shoulder, which took place on November 3. On Saturday afternoon, he trialed in a simulated game at Dodger Stadium, throwing 20 pitches against Chris Taylor, Austin Barnes, and prospect Kendall George.
During the session, Clayton Kershaw’s fastball reached 88 miles per hour, which surprised Los Angeles coach Dave Roberts. He mentioned that Kershaw’s performance was positive and that he is ahead of schedule on his rehab.
Roberts expects Kershaw to return to the mound in an official game in six weeks.

Based on the current schedule, the left pitcher is expected to join the Dodgers’ rotation around the Major League All-Star Break. Kershaw will have two more simulated game sessions with the Dodgers’ affiliate as they play away from Chavez Ravine over the next two weeks. They will play against the Pirates, Yankees, and Rangers between June 4 and 13.
“If you look at the progression of a pitcher on his first day of spring training, the second day of pitchers and catchers, he’s basically doing a one-inning situation. So, you’re talking about six weeks. But obviously, with Clayton, we’re all going to watch and react. But I think there will still be an ongoing process,” Dave Roberts said.
