Update:

The Toronto Blue Jays crushed the Los Angeles Dodgers 11–4 in Game 1 of the World Series at Rogers Centre on Friday, and will be hoping for more of the same in Game 2 on Saturday as they chase their first championship since 1993.

Rookie starter Trey Yesavage struck out Shohei Ohtani, while Addison Barger and Alejandro Kirk both made history. Barger hit the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history, and Kirk became the first Mexican-born player ever to hit a home run in a World Series game.

Will things go as smoothly for the Blue Jays in Game 2?

Who will start for the Dodgers and the Blue Jays in Game 2?

Game 2 starting pitchers

For the Dodgers, it will be Japanese star Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has a 2-1 record, a 1.83 ERA, and 18 strikeouts in 19.2 innings this postseason. In the second game of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers, Yamamoto became the first Dodgers pitcher to throw a complete game in the playoffs since 2004 and the first pitcher from any team to do so since 2017.

Opposing him is Blue Jays veteran Kevin Gausman, making his fifth start of the postseason. The two-time All-Star has a 2.00 ERA through 18 postseason innings and a 2-2 record, including a big win over the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the ALDS and three games in the ALCS against the Seattle Mariners (one win, two losses).
