Juan Soto has remained one of the best-performing players with the New York Yankees during the current MLB campaign. So far, he has achieved an offensive line of .300/.432/.601 with 34 home runs, 24 doubles, 4 triples, and 87 RBIs in 121 appearances with the ‘Bronx Bombers’; so his numbers make him one of the pillars of the franchise’s offense.

Juan José Soto Pacheco has won the affection of the New York Yankees fans and has indicated that he wants to stay with the franchise for a long time.

At the end of the season, the Dominican outfielder will try his luck in free agency, and different teams interested in his services are beginning to appear on the radar of possible destinations. According to renowned Major League Baseball insider Jon Heyman of the New York Post, there are four franchises in which the player can cause a stir.

The teams that appear to be the main interested parties and that can pay the contract that the Dominican baseball player aspires to are:

  • Los Angeles Dodgers
  • New York Mets
  • Philadelphia Pillies
  • Boston Red Sox

Update on the figures for Juan Soto's possible contract

The respected NY Post took on the task of surveying the opinions of different MLB baseball experts and the majority agreed that the Dominican outfielder will reach a figure that could range from 426 million, comparable to the contract obtained by Mike Trout, to 600 million similar to that signed by two-way player Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers. These are the predictions they came up with:

  • $540-550 million
  • 14 years, $550 million
  • 10 years, $550 million
  • 12 years, $600 million
  • 10 years, $500 million
  • 12 years, $480 million
  • 13 years, $520 million
  • $450-500 million
  • $500-550 million
  • More than 550 million dollars
  • $500 million
  • ‘Trout’s contract (12 years, $426.5 million)’
  • ‘His current value is definitely higher than (Shohei) Ohtani’s $437.4 million’
  • ‘A lot of cake’

Among the options that attract the most attention as a possible destination are the Dodgers, who made a significant investment last season.

“They are always a threat, and I don’t think their $1.4 billion spending last winter means they are out of money. They rarely pass up an opportunity to play at least for the biggest and best,” Jon Heyman said.

Juan Soto has also expressed his desire to play alongside a player of the Japanese's abilities:

“(Shohei) Ohtani would be one of the players I would like to play with... he went to the National League, and I went to the American League, so it’s complicated,” Soto said just last month.
