Forget hot dogs at the ballpark: The Milwaukee Brewers are serving up something totally unexpected
The Milwaukee Brewers are currently leading the NL Central and have the best record in baseball, and coach Pat Murphy might have the key ingredient.

Buying peanuts and cracker jacks in the seventh inning stretch is so last century. The Milwaukee Brewers have added a new item to their ball park menu, and it pays homage to manager Pat Murphy, and his quirky way of fueling up during games.
Portable ball park snacks
Eating a hot dog and having a beer at the ball park is as much of an American pastime as baseball itself. Times are changing, so are palates and stadiums around the Majors are adapting to the wants and needs of their patrons.
The latest and greatest of the baseball tasty treats comes straight out of American Family Field in Milwaukee. While it may not sound like the most scrumptious of snacks, it does have a nice ring to it, and it couldn’t be any more convenient for the fans in the stands.
The Brewers announced that “Murph’s Pocket Pancakes” will be on the menu during Sunday games for the rest of the season, starting this weekend for the Brew Crew’s home game against the New York Mets.
Not just pancakes: pizza and waffles too
The idea of the Pocket Pancakes didn’t come out of thin air. It was inspired an interview that manager Pat Murphy gave that went viral. He pulled a pancake out of his pocket, started grubbing it down before sharing some with the reporter who was conducting the interview during a live broadcast of the a game.
This wasn’t a one off thing. Murphy has made a habit of packing his pockets with food, not just pancakes. “Waffles, pancakes, pizza. Stuff I like. Have a little carbs, and then wash it down.” When asked if the pizza stains his pants, the manager has the perfect game plan. “It’s cold pizza. You just fold it up. It doesn’t stain.”
The Brewers are currently at the top of the NL Central, and they have the best record in baseball. It may not all be attributed to their coaches on-field dietary plan, but it seems to be fueling his managerial decisions to the top of the National League.
