Four arrested in connection with burglarizing Houston Astros star José Altuve’s home. What do we know?

Though justice has been served, it’s quite likely that the Astros star won’t rest easy in his home knowing that it was burglarized by a group not long ago.

4 held in connection with robbery of Jose Altuve’s home

According to Houston police on Friday, there are three men are currently in custody after being found to have broken into the home of Houston Astros second baseman, Jose Altuve, and stealing approximately $1 million worth of jewelry on Opening Day.

Identified as Patrick Maxey, Jordan Tarniella and William Jones Jr., the trio were charged with burglary of a habitation. It’s worth noting that all three are no less than 25-years old. With regards to the fourth suspect, 20-year-old Jasmyn Hall has been charged with hindering apprehension and evading arrest, after she allegedly tried to assist Jones in his attempt to escape officers on back on April 13th. As per court documents, the three men arrived at Altuve’s home in Hedwig Village at approximately 8:28 p.m. after which they spent more or less 10 minutes taking gold jewelry and 13 expensive watches including one said to be worth $420,000.

What other details do we know?

It is understood that Tarniella, who was arrested on April 13th, admitted that he was in fact the getaway driver. To that end, the 25-year-old confessed that he was using his mother’s car at the time of the burglary. Tarniella also went on to disclose that he was promised payment by the other two men in exchange for providing the transport, though he also added that he never received any money. Maxey who appeared in court on Friday morning, is understood to have had previous convictions. Indeed, the 27-year-old was implicated other burglaries in 2014 and 2016, while 28-year-old Jones also had prior convictions for burglary in 2016 and 2022. Maxey was arrested on May 2nd and saw his bond set at $200,000. Tarniella’s bond has reportedly been set at $150,000 and Jones’ stands at $200,000. For his part, Altuve has made no public comment on the incident with the Astros currently in the middle of a three-game series against the Mariners which started on Friday. Houston won the game 6-4.
