How many teams have recovered from 0-3 in the World Series?
The NewYork Yankees remain on a block of thin ice against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a three-game deficit in the MLB’s 2024 postseason final series.
The New York Yankees lost 4-2 in Game 3 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they need a brilliant performance in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium to stay alive; if the Dodgers win, they will become champions and take home the Commissioner’s Trophy.
This is the second time that the Dodgers have gone 3-0 over the Yankees in a World Series and won by sweep.
The last time was in 1963: in Game 1, they won 5-2, in Game 2, they were 4-1, in Game 3, they won 1-0, and in Game 4, they defeated them 2-1 in Los Angeles.
The biggest comeback in MLB history
No team in the history of Major League Baseball has ever recovered from a 0-3 deficit in the World Series, so the Bronx Bombers are currently down. However, there is a precedent of a team successfully overcoming a three-game disadvantage in the Championship Series.
In the 2004 American League Championship Series (ALCS), the Boston Red Sox overcame the New York Yankees in seven games, having lost Games 1 and 2 at home.
