Shohei Ohtani inaugurated the 50-50 club on Thursday. The Japanese xxxx became the first player in Major League Baseball to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season, achieving the incredible feat in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 20-4 victory over the Miami Marlins at loanDepot Park.

For now, Ohtani is the first member of the 50-50 club and considering it’s taken 154 years for someone to do it, he may well be the only one to ever occupy the select position.
Ohtani’s salary with the Dodgers
Ohtani reached free agency after finishing his contract with the Los Angeles Angels in December last year. He signed a long-term deal with the Dodgers, in exchange for $700 million - that figure will be deferred, but the entire amount is guaranteed.
For the duration of his 10-year deal,he will earn an average annual salary of $70 million with a base salary of $2,000,000 in 2024. The Dodgers will pay Ohtani $68 million annually between 2034 and 2043.
Shohei Ohtani and teammate Yoshinobu Yamamoto are the highest-paid players in MLB in 2024. Yamamoto will take home $60 million with $50 million of that from a signing bonus from the on a 12-year deal worth $325 million he last late last year.
Next on the list is the Texas Rangers’ Max Scherzer who will pocket $54 million, although the breakdown is different for all players depending on the terms of their contracts plus earnings from other endorsements and sponsorship arrangements.
