Juan Soto is the most coveted free agent in the Major Leagues, and the New York Yankees do not want to lose him. According to a report by Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the Dominican outfielder has already received a qualifying offer valued at 21.05 million dollars to stay with the ‘Bombers’ in 2025.

The offer seems meager compared to what the Dominican could realistically receive on the market. During the 2024 campaign, he played for a salary of 31 million dollars and, according to multiple reports, is aiming for a 10-year contract worth 600 million dollars.

According to Spotrac’s projection, Soto has a market value of 36.7 million dollars per season.

The contract projections are not just for its own sake. ‘La Fiera’, as Soto is also known, shined throughout the campaign with great statistics in the regular season, maintaining a batting average of .288/.419/.569 with 41 home runs, 109 RBIs and 128 runs scored.

The teams interested in Juan Soto

A player of Soto’s quality attracts all the teams in the Major Leagues, but only a few can pay the Dominican’s salary.

According to the bookmakers, the favorites to get the services of the outfielder are the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Since joining the MLB in 2015 by signing with the Washington Nationals, the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native has amassed a fortune of $82.304 million.
