One of the most talked-about signings in Major League Baseball recently has been that of the Japanese two-way player Shohei Ohtani. After playing for the Los Angeles Angels, he decided to join the other Californian team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Japanese baseball player has recovered from the elbow surgery he underwent last year and is ready for action in MLB preseason training. He will be in the designated hitter role in which he will see action throughout 2024 and will not start pitching again until next season.

There was a lot of speculation about when he would return to action and debut for his new team. It has now been revealed that he will make his debut on Tuesday at Camelback Ranch when the Dodgers face the Chicago White Sox in the Cactus League.

Dodgers activities for this week

  • Tuesday, February 27: Dodgers versus Chicago White Sox
  • Wednesday, February 28: Dodgers versus Texas Rangers
  • Thursday, February 29: Dodgers veersus Cincinnati Reds
  • Friday, March 1: Dodgers versus Cleveland Guardians

Shohei Ohtani, the star two-way player, recently became a free agent after ending his contract with the Los Angeles Angels. Many teams vied for his talent, but the LA Dodgers were adamant about having him. According to sources, the Dodgers have offered him a whopping 10-year deal worth $700 million, making him the highest-paid player in the history of Major League Baseball. However, it’s important to state that the figure will be deferred. This means that Ohtani won’t receive the entire amount all at once but over an extended period. Despite this, the whole amount is committed, and the Dodgers are willing to invest heavily in Ohtani’s talent and potential.
