Julio Urías could pitch again sooner than expected
Los Angeles Dodgers coach Dave Roberts will give Julio Urías a bullpen session during the series against the Tampa Bay Rays to check on his progress.
The Dodgers starting rotation has been hit hard lately with the loss of Dustin May. But there could be a ray of light on the horizon as Julio Urías could return to the lineup sooner than expected.
Urías has been on the 15-day disabled list since May 19 with a hamstring strain in his left leg , but indications are that he is healing nicely and can return to the mound sooner.
Dave Roberts, manager of the Dodgers said that Urías will work a bullpen session this weekend, at some point in the Tampa Bay Rays series, in order to assess his injury and find out if he will be available for the upcoming series against the New York Yankees.
Following the loss against the Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers will visit Tropicana Field for a weekend series against the Rays. Afterwards, the team will return to Los Angeles to host the Washington Nationals followed by the Yankees.
