Liga MX stars Gignac and Canales join forces to help battle Boston Red Sox
Boston Red Sox are preparing for the start of the new 2025 MLB season with two exhibition games against Monterrey based LMB team Sultanes.

Excitement is sky high in the Mexican city of Monterrey as for the first time ever, MLB giants Boston Red Sox have travelled to Nuevo Leon for two Spring Training games against local LMB team Sultanes.

The Mobil Super Stadium witnessed a big game for the first match-up on Monday night which saw the North American side dismantle their neighbours from south of the border with a comfortable 10-1 win with a clear and apparent gulf in quality between both teams.

Boston held nothing back despite the game being a precursor to the start of the regular season with stars like Jarren Duran, Alex Bregman and Aroldis Chapman the main attention.
The Sox get their new season underway on Thursday as they face the Texas Rangers.
Gignac and Canales to pitch
During the first game on Monday, the giant screens at the stadium confirmed that both the French striker André Pierre Gignac (who plays with Liga MX side Tigres UANL) and Spanish star Sergio Canales (Rayados player), would be in charge of throwing the first pitch for game 2 of this mini series.
