Luis Arráez sunk the Dodgers
‘La Regadera’ hit a home run in the ninth inning and also drove Tyler Wade home, securing a victory for the team against the Dodgers at Petco Park.
Last week, the San Diego Padres traded for Luis Arráez from the Miami Marlins. In a recent game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Arráez played a crucial role in securing a victory for his team in a close pitching battle between Tyler Glasnow and Michael King.
The game was tied at one run each until the ninth inning. Luis Campusano hit a solo home run in the third inning to give the Padres the lead, but the Dodgers tied the game in the sixth inning with a sacrifice fly by Freddie Freeman that brought Mookie Betts home.
After three unsuccessful attempts, Arráez hit a line drive to center field that allowed Tyler Wade to score from second base, giving the Padres the lead and, ultimately, the win. Arráez is also known as “La Regadera.”
This was the second walk-off of Arráez’s Major League career. The first occurred on July 23, 2023, when he singled in the 10th inning of the Marlins’ game against the Colorado Rockies.

During this period, Arráez has maintained an impressive batting average of .375 after hitting nine hits in 24 at-bats. In addition, he has scored 10 times and has two RBI. So far, he has only struck out once and has drawn a walk.
