Mauricio Dubón, Adolis García among Latinos nominated in MLB Golden Glove awards
The MLB announced the nominees for the Gold Glove awards, where the large number of Latinos on the list is striking.
The nominees for the MLB Gold Glove awards were announced in the different positions that exist in the Major Leagues, where it is striking that 22 Latinos feature in the list between both leagues.
Among the nominees, are the Honduran Mauricio Dubón, of the Houston Astros, as well as the Cuban Adolis García, a player who plays with the Texas Rangers, who have a 2-0 advantage in the championship series of the American League. Dubón is nominated as second baseman, where Venezuelan Andrés Giménez and North American Marcus Semien, who plays with the Texas Rangers, are also nominated. For his part, Adolis García is nominated as left fielder along with Kyle Tucker of the Houston Astros and Mexican Alex Verdugo, of the Boston Red Sox.
Last year, a total of 16 Latinos were nominated for the Golden Glove awards. In the end, a total of five Latin players picked up accolades at the ceremony that was held in November 2022.
