Meghan Markle picks Dodgers over Blue Jays: Toronto fans aren’t taking it lightly
Fans called out the Duchess of Sussex for supporting the Dodgers instead of the Blue Jays, even though she is from Los Angeles.

Meghan Markle and husband Prince Harry were among the high-profile names in attendance as the Los Angeles Dodgers took on the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday. The Duchess of Sussex, in particular, drew plenty of online criticism for the team she chose to support.
When Megs was in Toronto she was all over the Blue Jays (BJ for short.. quite apt) but now it's the Dodgers apparently. pic.twitter.com/8qQgU9NlR3

Royals support the Dodgers
The royal couple made their allegiance to the home team clear as they were photographed wearing Dodgers caps in the front row, seated just in front of Magic Johnson and Sandy Koufax, whom some commenters joked were the “real” royalty in the photo.
Fans call out Markle for switching sides
Social media users took aim at the Sussexes for several reasons, with many expressing unhappiness that Markle backed the Dodgers. In theory, it shouldn’t have come as a shock - the former actress was born and raised in Los Angeles after all.
Critics, however, pointed out that the 44-year-old lived in Toronto for nine months each year while filming “Suits” between 2011 and 2018. During that time, Markle frequently supported the Blue Jays and was photographed wearing the team’s merchandise on numerous occasions.
Still, seven years is a long time, and you’re from where you’re from. Her biggest offense, perhaps, was becoming a fan of a “second” team that could face her “first” in direct competition.
So much for Harry the "Prince of Canada". Or Markle "loving Toronto", as they don dodgers caps at LA vs Toronto #BlueJays series. Pair of charlatans and grifters. #MeghanMarkle #skanks https://t.co/PF3GBOEHBm

Prince Harry’s Canadian connection
Prince Harry also caught some criticism for pledging his allegiance to the Dodgers. The 41-year-old has a long history with Canada, including a military training deployment in Alberta in 2007 and a six-week stay on Vancouver Island in 2019, shortly before the couple announced their plan to step back as senior working royals.
That bond once led some to call Harry the “Prince of Canada.” a title that, judging by this week’s reaction, he no longer holds.
